Edith Lyons

Edith Ussery Lyons died early Friday evening, August 8, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born September 17, 1920 in Sanford, NC. In 1945 Edith married Paul Lyons, a New York native, and the couple moved to Raleigh. During the summer of 1964, Edith and Paul came to Winston-Salem where they lived the rest of their lives. Many times during the weeks leading to her passing, Edith said how thankful for and happy she was with the life she led. She died content. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Sally Spring and her son, Ted Lyons. A celebration of her life will be held at an undetermined time in Sanford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
