Mrs. Edith LeeAnna Reagan Hatfield "Maw", age 86, of Winston Salem, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. Edith was born on February 19, 1931, in Buncombe County to the late Robert Lee Reagan and Hattie Gertrude Miller. Edith was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 52 years, where she was a children's Sunday School teacher and a member of the Senior Adult Choir. She was active in missions at home as well as in other countries. She retired from Baptist Hospital with 15 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hatfield; son, Eddie Hatfield; brothers, Buck and Wallace Reagan; and nephew, Donnie O'Brien. Edith is survived by her children, Jim Hatfield and wife Susan of Winston Salem; Judy Trexler and husband, Ike of Lexington, NC; three grandchildren, Jennifer Comer and husband Jason of Lexington, NC, Wesley Trexler of Lexington, NC and Garrett Hatfield and wife, Ariel of Holly Springs, NC; great-grandchildren, Sammy and Addy Comer and Teddy Hatfield, Sister, Lou Etta O'Brien and husband Bud of Winchester, VA; nieces, Tracy Rice (Gary), Lisa Combes (Doug); nephew, David West (Nada); great-nieces and nephew, Stephanie, Shannon, Crystal, Taylor, Nicole, and Buddy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday December 9, 2017, 1:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston Salem, 5000 Country Club Road, Winston Salem, NC 27104. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank the staff at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living for providing a loving home for our mom. We would also like to thank Kate B Reynolds Hospice for providing excellent care for "Maw" during her final days. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of Edith Reagan Hatfield to KBR Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Calvary Baptist Church, 5000 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. "This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it" Psalm 118:24
