Mrs. Edith Walker Gray, 91, of Clemmons, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. She was born August 25, 1920 in Wilkes County to John and Sina Redding Walker. Mrs. Gray was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 33 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, T.C. ""Chub"" Gray; six brothers; and three sisters. Surviving is a very special niece and caregiver, Montine Bryan Scales; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two special friends, Larry and Phyllis Rumple. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Gus Thomas, the Rev. Dr. Cecil Cave, and the Rev. Kermit Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service.
