Edith Inez Warden Farmer, devoted wife and mother, passed away quietly on December 21, 2015. She had been in declining health for a number of years. She was born on June 15, 1922, to Robert and Ruth Warden of Forsyth County. She is survived by her son, Jerry Farmer (Ellen) of Lewisville, and her daughter, Glenda Beauchamp (Tony) of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Randy and Derrick Beauchamp, and a granddaughter, Lee Ellen Farmer; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Caroline Beauchamp. She is also survived by two sisters, Katherine Hicks of Lewisville and Ethel Blakely of Newport News, Va. Her husband of 65 years, William David Farmer, died in 2008. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Robert Jr., Cletus and Samuel Warden, and her sister, Sadie Berrier. She lived most of her adult years in the Jonestown Road community and was an active member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. Edie, as she was better known, operated a daycare for over twenty-five years and had a strong affection for all ""her"" children and their families, many of whom became life-long friends. Her family is especially grateful to Vienna Village Retirement Community for the years of loving care and attention she received as a resident. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church by Rev. Marilyn Weiler. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the burial. Memorials may be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 1130 Jonestown Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
