Edith Harpe Canter

Edith Harpe Canter passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Bermuda Commons. She was born July 8, 1929 to Carl Lee Harpe and Lottie Harrell Harpe in Randolph County. Edith retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 32 years of service. She enjoyed watching birds and loved all animals. She took great pride in her lovely home and gladly hosted many out of town guests. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Asa Theo Canter, 7 brothers and sisters, and a great grandson, Cameron Poole. Survivors include her children, Shelby Redmond (Stanley), and Donna Goforth; grandchildren, Stacie Poole (Robert), Christie Baity, Tiger Redmond (Erin), and Steven Theo Redmond (Melanie); great grandchildren, Shayla, Tyler, Sydney, Kayla, Step, Kody, and Chase; great great-granddaughter, Chloie; brothers, John Harpe, and Ralph Harpe; sister, Nancy Overstreet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 9, 2014 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday.
