Edgar "Allen" Mabe, Sr.

Mr. Edgar “Allen” Mabe, Sr., 65, of Winston-Salem, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.  Allen was born in Forsyth County on July 21, 1957, to the late Edgar Mabe and Ruby Yow Mabe.  Allen is survived by his two sons, Edgar “Eddie” Allen Mabe, Jr. of Clemmons, NC and Gregory J. Mabe (Ashlee) of Noblesville, IN; and four grandsons, Nickolas Mabe, Isaak Mabe, Cohen Mabe, and Weston Mabe.  Allen was a loving son and caretaker for his mother as well as a loving father and grandfather.  He had numerous hobbies and interests.  Allen was known as a phenomenal musician, skilled craftsman with metal work and made his own furniture and weightlifting equipment which aligned with his interests in body building.  He was a skilled marksman, avid gun owner, genius with electronics, expert fisherman, and ham radio operator.  Allen was a perfectionist with a good sense of humor, fun to be around, and a great teacher for all who would listen.  Allen was a Christian and believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and spread the gospel, especially to his sons.  He attended both North Point Baptist Church and Gospel Light Baptist Church.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Jason Fletcher officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
