Edgar Warren Skip" Chilton

Mr. Edgar Warren ""Skip"" Chilton passed away Monday May 31, 2010 at Willowbrook Healthcare Center. He was born on Feb 14, 1924 in Forsyth County, NC. Skip married Lottie Fulton Chilton in 1950, after serving in WWII. He was a proud graduate of Hanes High School, attended High Point College and UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a Masters of Education. He taught many subjects, but will be best remembered for his patient, and dedicated teaching of mathematics at the high school and college level. He played baseball in local city leagues as a young man, was a member of Northwest Baptist Church and loved music, reading, and often put his thoughts in poems and drawings. Skip was preceded in death by his adored wife Lottie. He is survived by his son, Robbie and wife Pat, grandsons Christopher and Matthew Chilton of Newport News, Virginia; his son Neil Chilton, sister Joanne Chilton, brother Larry Chilton of Winston Salem; sister Pat Lofton of Huntersville, NC and many nieces, nephews and extended family in vicinity of Winston-Salem, NC. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 4th, 2010, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Brandon Hudson officiating. A private burial will follow the service.
