Mr. Edgar Leon Burrow, 84, passed away Thursday, March 08, 2018 at Universal Health Care in King. He was born in Stokes Co. on June 30, 1933, the son of the late Edwin and Julie Burrow. Mr. Burrow was a member of Jefferson Christian Church in Rural Hall. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Burrow started his plumbing career with Foster & Haley Plumbing and went on to become a partner in the business. After selling his part in Foster & Haley Plumbing, he opened Burrow Plumbing and operated it for another 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Jackson Burrow; his children, Danny Burrow, Landon Burrow (Annette) and Lisa Smith (Leroy); five grandchildren, Melissa Burrow, Matthew Burrow, Shannon Smith, Ryan Holloway and Rachel Burrow; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Burrow and Amara Brie Holloway. He is also survived by his special friends, Richard and Judy Shore; Mickie Burrow; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Jefferson Christian Church in Rural Hall with Steve Cook, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Wounded Warrior Foundation or American Legion Post #290 of King. The family would like to thank Universal Healthcare for all of the care shown to Mr. Burrow in his time of need. They would also like to send a special thank you to Donna, Megan and Ozi for the love and care shown to Mr. Burrow and the entire family.
