Eddye Carolyn Watts

Eddye Carolyn Watts, 70, died on January 3, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center. Miss Watts was born September 21, 1940, as the only child of Lewis Odell Watts and Clara Beckel Watts, both of whom preceded her in death, and she is survived by a number of cousins. After graduating from Gray High School she began her working career at AT&T and retired after more than thirty years of service. After retirement from AT&T she worked at Computer Credit, Inc. until two years ago when she again retired. Eddye Carolyn was a very caring and loving person to her family and friends and especially to her mother who became totally dependent on her in later years. While she had no brothers and sisters she nevertheless enjoyed a very active social life with her fellow rabid Tar Heel fans, her friends from Gray High School, AT&T and Computer Credit, Inc. but her most treasured relationship was as a Christian and with Maple Springs United Methodist Church where her family attended for several generations and where she has established the EDDYE CAROLYN WATTS TRUST FUND to continue, even in death, her support of the Church's ministries. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Dr. Terry Matthews, Senior Pastor of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. Friends are encouraged to gather from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Hayworth Miller Chapel on Silas Creek Parkway. Memorials may be made to Maple Springs United Methodist Church at 2569 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
