Eddie Vernon Spence

Mr. Eddie Vernon Spence, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born November 11, 1931 in Surry County to Millie Wall Spence and Esca Taylor Spence. Mr. Spence was of the Baptist faith and retired from the City of Winston-Salem Water Division. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marian Cooper and Opal Wood. Surviving are his wife, June Dunlap Spence; a son, Vernon Spence (Krista) of Davidson County and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. John Bishop officiating. There is no stated visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Konnoak Baptist Church, 400 McLean Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
