Mr. Dwight Dalton Grubbs, 55, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. He was born in Forsyth Co. on July 19, 1955 to Wade Dalton Grubbs and Loretta Styers Grubbs. Dwight was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his son. He had a great love of music and loved playing the piano. Dwight traveled around the country playing in a band and was very proud of his musical accomplishments. He later worked for AT&T and was currently working for S.E Systems that provided sound systems for the Winston-Salem Symphony, Merlefest and Winston-Salem Street Scenes. He was preceded in death by his father, Wade Dalton Grubbs and by his grandparents. Dwight is survived by his son, Nehemiah Grubbs, his mother, Loretta S. Grubbs, and a step-daughter, Amber McAdams and husband Will all of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Rev. Gary Styers officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
