Dura Parrish Thomas

Walkertown - Mrs. Dura Parrish Thomas, 86, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011, at Yadkin Nursing Center. Dura was born December 12, 1924, in Forsyth County to the late Lee and Addie Parrish . She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and retired from Hanes Hosiery where she worked in the print shop. In addition to her parents, Dura was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Thomas; a brother, Norman; and sister, Ivy Jean. Surviving are her sister, Opal Beeson, of Kernersville; a brother, Raymond Parrish (Wanda) of Abingdon, VA; a nephew, Tony Parrish, of Abingdon, VA; and three nieces, Linda Blackburn, of High Point, Sandy Robbins, of Kernersville, and Kathy Hylton (Emmitt) of Mebane. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2011 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
