D.T. Smith

D.T. Smith entered his heavenly home on Sunday, November 3, 2024. He was born February 24, 1935, to the late Stella Jones Smith and Duel Tuberose Smith. D.T. was a highly skilled brick mason working alongside his father and brothers to complete many homes, churches and commercial properties throughout North Carolina. He enjoyed hunting and spending most of his time outdoors. You could often find him sitting outside under his favorite oak tree greeting those he loved with a big smile. He made a statement of faith at an early age and was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sue Angell Smith, daughter, Deborah, and brothers, Robert Gray Smith and Otis Grant Smith. Those who will carry him in their hearts are: children, Ricky Smith and Wallace Smith; grandchildren, Jesse, Megan, and Kayla; three sisters, Martha Koontz (Jerry), Barbara Mumford (Ervin), and Linda Roberson (Steve); two brothers, Jerry Smith (Judy Follette) and Richard Smith (Elizabeth); a host of nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 11:45 am.
