Drewery Norman

Walnut Cove- Mr. Drewery Douglas Norman, 94 passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at his residence.  He was born July 14, 1928, in Surry County, the son of Caleb Franklin and Daisy Dillard Norman.  He was a member of Stanleyville Baptist Church and retired as the owner of Sauratown Stone Company.  He enjoyed fishing, golf, gardening, and drawing.  Devoted to his family, one of his greatest joy was his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Claudine Welborn Norman and six sisters.  Survivors include his children, Lynn Booker (Bill) of Walnut Cove. Sue Campbell of High Point and Marshall Norman (Sylvia) of King; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.  A funeral will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 29, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Doug Klein officiating.  Burial will follow at Palmyra United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friends of Stokes Shelter, 1111 Dodgetown Rd., Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
