Dr. Eldon Severin Beard

Kernersville – Dr. Eldon Severin Beard, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his residence. He grew up in Buies Creek, North Carolina but was born on July 9, 1956, in North Augusta, Georgia to Dr. Stanford Beard and Lois Whatley Beard. Eldon earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry in 1978 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Medical Degree in 1982 from Wake Forest University. He was a family medicine physician and opened his practice, Family Care of Winston-Salem, in 1987. Eldon was also an accomplished author and recently had his third book published. He loved to garden and enjoyed beekeeping. He was a loving husband, father, Papa, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Eldon was preceded in death by his first wife, Vicki Carter Beard.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Pamela McBride Beard; three children, Justin Beard (wife, Jess), April Elizabeth Beard, and Joe Beard; three bonus children, Stephen Brown (wife, Andrea), Sarah Billups (husband, Joey), and Seth Brown; eight grandchildren, Chai, Asher, Hosanna, Mercy, Avi, Julia, Wesley, and Henry; his brother, Kevin Beard (wife, Cathey) and their daughters, Kristen and Lauren; and Pam and Eldon’s rescue dogs, Bella and Beau.

A memorial service for Eldon will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at The Crossing Church – Union Cross Campus with Pastor Pete Kunkle and Pastor Dan Hipply officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 6:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
