Douglas Waters

Douglas Blanton Waters, 87, of Winston Salem NC passed away on August 28, 2022, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. Doug was born in Rutherford County NC to Elijah Clifton Waters and Gaynelle Blanton Waters. He graduated from Clemson University in 1962 with a degree in civil engineering. His entire career was spent serving the state of North Carolina as a civil engineer with the department of transportation. Doug was an avid reader and had a great appreciation for good food. He is survived by his wife Amanda Waters, daughters Amy Baker (David), Meg Parrish (Jeff), and grandson Jonah Baker. Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother Jack Allen Waters. Visitation for family and friends will be at Hayworth Miller on Silas Creek Parkway on Saturday September 3, 2022, from 12-2pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home/Trellis Supportive care in Winston Salem.
