Douglas Vaughn

Kernersville – Douglas Allan Vaughn, Sr., 69, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County on June 10, 1953, to the late William Floyd Vaughn and Mozelle McGee Johnson. Doug loved spending time outdoors, particularly fishing. Some of his favorite hobbies were woodworking, crafting, taking care of his lawn, and bowling. He was family centered and loved spending time with them. Doug was very detail oriented to a fault. He loved to talk and no matter where he went, he would see someone he knew. Douglas was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle, who was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen Reisener Vaughn; a son, Douglas “Allan” Vaughn, Jr. (April); a daughter, Angela “Angie” Nelson (David); five grandchildren, Ashley Hince (Brandon), Ryan Vaughn, Joshua Craver (Kayley), Abigail Nelson, and Adley Nelson; one great grandchild, Harley Hince; and one nephew, Trey Vaughn.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Union Cross Moravian Church with Pastor Adam Goodrich officiating. Family will receive friends and loved ones immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

A private burial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Cross Moravian Church Building Fund, 4295 High Point Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
