Douglas Long

Mr. Douglas Ray Long, age 82 of Advance, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022.  He was born January 7, 1940 in Davie County to the late Connie Mack Long and Frankie Smoot Long.  Mr. Long loved all things horses and a little horse trading from time to time.  He had retired from Larco Construction Company after 37 years of service.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Gail Williams Long.  Surviving is his daughter, Saundra McMinn (Robert) of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; two grandsons, Kenneth McMinn (Dyania) and Ryan McMinn; one granddaughter, Malia McMinn (Josue); two great grandsons, Isaac and Henry McMinn; one brother, Joe Long and one sister, Betty Long.  A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Baileys Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev.
