High Point- Mr. Douglas Gregory Haggerty, 41, passed away, Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was born October 15, 1983, in Guilford County, the son of Richard C. Haggerty, Jr. and Deborah Stutts Jones. Doug was employed by Tom’s Place Restaurant in High Point and was an accomplished Chef. He was a devoted NC State and Atlanta Braves fan. A charismatic person who loved his dogs. Doug was sensitive, never met a stranger, pulled for the underdog and was everybody’s hero. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Billy O. Stutts and Ileen Stutts and his paternal grandparents, Nina and Richard Haggerty. Survivors include his mother, Deborah Stutts Jones of High Point; his father Dr. Richard Haggerty, Jr. D.V.M. and wife, Lorian of Belews Creek; three brothers, Richard “Tripp” Haggerty, III (Katie) of High Rock Lake, Ryan Haggerty (Whitney) of Midway and David Jones of High Point; a nephew, Liam Haggerty and numerous friends that he considered family. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Tom’s Place Restaurant in High Point. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville is assisting the family.
