Dottie Sue Beshears Bodenhamer

Mrs. Dottie Sue Beshears Bodenhamer, 75, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Trinity Elms Health & Rehab.  Dottie was born in Wilkes County, NC on July 14, 1948, to the late Everette Claude Beshears and Anna Doris Powell Beshears.  She graduated from Parkland High School in 1966 and had a long career in the banking industry, retiring from both Wachovia and BB&T.  Dottie was a member of Unity Baptist Church.  She enjoyed shag dancing, Wake Forest sports, quality time with friends, and a good book.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Holland Bodenhamer; and siblings, Rex Beshears, Margie Beshears Weatherman, and Dewey Beshears.  Dottie is survived by her children, Wendy Bodenhamer Ellington and husband, Terry of Lexington, NC and Wesley Bodenhamer and wife, Carley of Plymouth, MI; grandchildren, Alexander Ellington, Ethan Ellington, Carter Ellington, Linley Bodenhamer, and Eisley Bodenhamer; brother, Roger Beshears and wife, Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Unity Baptist Church with Pastor Benny Sprouse officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45pm prior to the service at the church.  A private entombment will be held at later date.  The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Trinity Elms Health & Rehab and Mallard Ridge Assisted Living Facility for their compassionate care over the past few months.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.   Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mrs. Bodenhamer.
