Dot Patterson

Mrs. Dot Cole Patterson passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born May 13, 1942 in Stokes County to the late Alonza Jackson Cole and Orice Sheppard Cole.  Dot proudly raised her sons before later becoming a Teacher’s Aide at Rural Hall Elementary.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville and was a charter member of the Stanleyville Women’s Club.  Her love language was serving others.  She was an avid sports fan of her children and grandchildren.  Dot’s greatest love was spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by an infant son and one sister, Shirley Lawson.  She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy D. Patterson; two sons, Dale Patterson (Wendy) and Britt Patterson (Becky); four grandchildren: Lily, Tyler, Daniel, and Sydney; brother, A.J. Cole; sister, Tootsie Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Life will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
