Dorothy "Dot" Ketner

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Sowers Ketner, 92, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully Thursday, February 3, 2022. Mrs. Ketner was born in Forsyth County to John David and Frances Head Sowers. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and worked for Western Electric for 13 years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed doing things for others, traveling and making ceramics. She will be remembered for her unwavering integrity, generosity and sense of humor. Mrs. Ketner was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Everett Ketner. Surviving are her sister, Peggy S. Jeffords of Winston-Salem, nephew Scott Jeffords and family (Lynn, Jay and Kathryn), nephew George Inlow and wife, Lynn, and several other nieces and nephews. The family gives special thanks and gratitude to Doug and Janice Jordan and Treva Hartwig. At Dorothy’s request, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army - Disaster Relief, P.O. Box 1205, Winston-Salem, NC 27102.
