Dorothy James Young

Mrs. Dorothy James Young, 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2015. Dorothy was born on June 4, 1928 in Forsyth County to Jonas James and Annie Seymore James. She was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church where she attended for many years. Dorothy retired after many years of loyal service from the Moravian Home. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosa Lee Bowles; and one sister, Phyllis. She is survived by one son, Robert Wayne Young of Winston-Salem; four granddaughters, Crystal and Shannon Young, Lori Denise Bowles, and Lisa Holley; two grandsonds, Chris Young and D.J. Bowles; great grandchildren; and an extended number of great great grandchildren. A graveside service for Dorothy will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice, especially to Melissa Neal.
