Miss Dorothy Elizabeth Wolf, 84, of Winston-Salem died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem. She was born June 21, 1925 in Grafton, WV, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence Nestor Wolfe. Miss Wolf was a 1943 graduate of Grafton High School and attended West Virginia University for two years. She later attended classes at the University of Akron and the University of California Extension in San Francisco. She lived in San Francisco for 38 years where she worked for and retired from AT&T Long Lines. She was active in volunteer work, was president of the San Francisco Council of the Telephone Pioneers and was active in the California Press Women organization. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 1989. While living in Winston-Salem she was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross. Survivors include her uncle, Arthur Wolfe and wife Kathleen of Florence, KY; her cousins, Ruth Ann Carson and husband, Bill of Winterville, NC, Carol Gill and husband, Bob of White Plains, MD, Judy Neve and husband, Daryl of King, NC, Howard Dale Wolfe and wife, Eleanor of Fairfax, VA, Ethel Borne of Roanoke, VA, Bob Foster and wife, Carolyn of Mt. Dora, FL, Larry Foster and wife, Diana of Hickory, NC, Bill Foster and wife, Phyllis of Ramona, CA, Kenny Foster of Akron, OH, Dale Gokel and wife, Karen of Edenton, NC and Janet Elaine Hunt of Naples, FL. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Chaplain Craig Walker officiating.
