Dorothy Stokes

Mrs. Dorothy Dyson Stokes, 87 of Advance, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at Brookdale Senior Living in Winston-Salem. She was born September 12, 1933, in Davie County to the late Thomas Monzy and Nannie Reeves Dyson, and step-mother Edna Parks Dyson. Mrs. Stokes retired from Western Electric in Winston-Salem for 26 years as a Benefits Administrator. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Edna Parks Dyson and husband Bobby Gray Stokes Sr., brothers, Leroy Dyson and Jimmy Dyson; a daughter-in-law, Janice Poore Stokes. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Mabe (Tim) of Clemmons and Donna Bowman (Aubrey) of Advance and one son, Bobby Stokes Jr. of Mocksville; sister, Melba Feimster (Rodger) of Mocksville; and a brother, Carl Dyson (Nell) of Mocksville; 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, 6135 Ridgewood Road, Clemmons, N.C. with Pastor Wayne Swisher officiating.
