Dorothy "Dot" Peacock

Mrs. Dorothy ""Dot"" Peacock Peacock, 93, of Walkertown, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Peacock was born in Davie County, NC on September 28, 1922, to the late Albert B. Peacock and Carrie Bell Curlee Peacock. Dorothy was raised in the Junior Order Home in Tiffin, Ohio where she gained hundreds of brothers and sisters. She was a longtime member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lincoln Peacock and eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Peacock is survived by her two sons, Jack W. Peacock and Dennis V. Peacock, both of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Andrew Peacock (Kim), Tiffany Peacock Colbert (David), and Matthew Peacock, Sr. (Marissa); six great-grandchildren, Jessica Arce, Matthew Peacock, Jr., David Colbert, Brooke Peacock, Wesley Colbert, and Will Peacock; two great-great-grandchildren, Lily and Ava Arce; and numerous foster grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Bobby Elledge and Rev. Kelly P. Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Forsyth Medical Center ICCU and Palliative Care Units for the exceptional care they provided to Dorothy during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
