Dorothy "Dot" Jean Brown Mabe

Mrs. Dorothy ""Dot"" Jean Brown Mabe, 91, went to be with her lord and savior on March 22, 2017. Dot was born in Allegheny County on March 14, 1926, to Fred and Donna Brown. She was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church and retired from Western Electric with over 30 years of loyal service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and attending church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Chapman; two brothers, Jim Brown and Joe Brown; and one sister-in-law, Irene Brown. Surviving are one daughter, Donna Mabe Beeson; one granddaughter, Kelly Ruark Christie; three sisters, Evelyn Phipps, Sue Caldwell, and Linda Hornung; one brother, Ralph Brown; and one grandson-in-law, Brandon Christie. A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3-4pm on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
