Mrs. Dorothy Brown Leamon, 80, of Clemmons, passed away on March 12, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Forsyth County to William and Ruth Holcomb Brown. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She retired from Hanes Hosiery and also the United States Postal Service and the started her own business in 1995 and was president of National Tax Professionals, also, NC Society of Tax Professionals and served as the president of AARP - Vita Program, Southeast Region. She will be missed as being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Brown. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Burton Leamon; seven children, Sabrina Smitherman, Deborah Hogan, Karen Caudle, Paul Harbison, Jr., Laura Slater, Sherrie Brown and LuAnne Hensdale; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Dwight Cartner and Mr. Ken Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the funeral home.
