Dorothy McNeill Idol

KERNERSVILLE - Dorothy McNeill Idol, 88, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 5, 1924 in Guilford Co., to the late Walter and Lona Cagle McNeill. Dorothy was an active member of First Baptist Church in Kernersville and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Clinton McNeill; sister, Verlene Maness; and a granddaughter, Melinda Carol. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Howard ""Billy"" Idol of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Idol of Colfax, Karen Lefever and husband, Randy and Sharon Parks and husband, Greg all of Kernersville; six grandchildren, Ryan and Bryan Rice, Casey and Joshua Lefever, and Hannah and Katie Parks; and one brother, Paul McNeill and wife, Helen of Winston Salem. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Kernersville with Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
