Dorothy Evelyn Secrest Hutson

Mrs. Dorothy Evelyn Secrest Hutson, age 81 of Mt. Airy passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Mrs. Hutson was born July 1, 1929 in Surry County to the late Charlie Matt and the late Sis Vinie Mathis Secrest. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. In addition to her parents Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; Miller ""Snuffy"" Hutson. Six sisters: Carrine Dixon, Sarah Lovill, Hattie Lovill, Linda Anderson, Bernice and Gladys Secrest. Two brothers: Monroe and Harless Secrest. Surviving are two daughters: Tammy (Mike) Moser of King and Regina Hutson of Rural Hall. Two grandchildren: Crystal (Casey) Caudill and Michelle Moser. Six great-grandchildren. One sister; Thelma Kay. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Hutson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Rev. Barry Brown with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday May 6th from 12:30 until time of the funeral service.
