Dorothy Foust Hall

Dorothy Foust Hall, 73 of Advance, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, January 24, 2013. She was born on Dec. 5, 1939, in Cullman, Alabama to Ralph Stevens and Eloise Murphree Foust. Her family moved to Winston-Salem, NC when she was a child and she attended local schools, graduating from Gray High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul E. Hall on April 9, 1960 and they had 52 wonderful years of marriage. Theirs was a wonderful love story and they adored each other. Dorothy was a stay at home mother who, together with Paul, created a warm and loving home and gave their children a wonderful childhood. She was active in church activities such as Youth Leader, EMW President, Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Leader at Old Richmond Evangelical Methodist Church where she was a member years ago and was currently a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. When her daughters were older she went back to school and became a real estate broker, a career she enjoyed for 25 years, helping couples and families find just the right home. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepfather, Fred Haire. She is survived by her devoted husband, Paul E. Hall of the home and daughters, Kimberley Harvey (Seth) of Advance and Jennifer ""Jenner"" Lee (Kent) of Lewisville, 3 grandchildren: Kara Harvey and Sam Harvey of Advance, and Alexandra Lee of Lewisville; siblings, Linda Matthews, Renea Clifton (Curt), Terry Foust (Jenny) and Beverly Collins (Ralph) of Winston-Salem, Red Foust (Carol) and Bill Foust (Becky) of Mocksville; sister-in-law, Betty Hall Weygandt (Eric) of Winston-Salem and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway and a private graveside service for family will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Dr. Mark Key. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church 3542 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The family would like to thank Patty Klein, PA-C of Brookview Hills Internal Medicine and Dr. David Meyer of Triad Neurological Associates for their most excellent care of Dorthy over the years and also express thanks to the nurses of Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Palliative Care for the kind compassionate care.
