Mrs. Dorothy ""Louise"" Southern Gibson, age 88 of Rural Hall went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday morning, November 18, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Louise was born in Stokes County August 28, 1922 to the late James Oliver and the late Hattie Mae Southern Southern. She was a member at Quaker Gap Baptist Church for 75 years and also attended the First Baptist Church of Rural Hall. She was a very loving wife, mother and friend. She always enjoyed helping others and was very active in her church while her health allowed. She was a member of three senior clubs that she truly enjoyed. The Quaker Gap Friendly Club, Rural Hall Senior Citizens and the Club 66. In addition to her parents Louise was preceded in death by her husband; Wesley Thomas Gibson, a sister Edith S. Wells, and a brother; James R. Southern, her half-sister; Harriet S. Calhoun and a half-brother; Clyde F. Southern. Surviving are her daughter; Karen (Larry) Linville of King. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 20, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Pastor Keith McKinney,Rev. Mervin Garrison and Peter Cain, Minister. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Friday evening November 19th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Quaker Gap Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. 2265 Flat Shoals Road, King, NC 27021
