Dorothy Smith Ervin

Mrs. Dorothy Smith Ervin, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at her home. She was born January 31, 1925 in Forsyth County to Margarette Stewart Smith and William Herman Smith. Mrs. Ervin was a member of Central Terrace United Methodist Church and retired from Sears after 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Marlene Bruce and one sister, Virginia Smith Tannery. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Charles H. Ervin of the home; two grandchildren, Todd Bruce, Troy Bruce and wife Monica; one great grandson, Mason Bruce, all of Winston-Salem; and one sister, Joann Andre and husband Jim of Glennwood Springs, CO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
