Dorothy Nadine Daniels

Ms. Dorothy ""Dot"" Nadine Daniels, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Ms. Daniels was born on September 20, 1926 in Forsyth County to James Lavan Tallon and Grace Tallon Hire. Ms. Daniels was raised in Winston-Salem and graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1943.

Ms. Daniels was married on December 24, 1943 to her husband, Mr. Leon Ross Daniels Sr. She and Leon enjoyed 68 years of faithful marriage to one another, until Mr. Daniels passed away on September 23, 2011. Ms. Daniels could always be found by her husband's side at Church in their earlier years, as members of the Forest Hill Baptist Church. Mr. and Ms. Daniels also enjoyed frequent trips to the North Carolina coast, the Blue Ridge Parkway, breakfast out with High School friends, and dates together at their favorite local restaurants.

Ms. Daniels served as an Administrative Assistant at Western Electric for 31 years, was always known for remembering everyone's Birthdays, as well as other special dates in the lives of her loved ones. Ms. Daniels lived out her faith in God by how she treated her family, friends, and neighbors with compassionate care. Ms. Daniels was very committed to her faith, family, and career. She will be remembered as a kind hearted, generous giver, and a devoted Christian woman with a servant's heart.

Ms. Daniels is survived by her son, Leon Jr. and wife Pamela of Hampstead, NC; three grandchildren, Shannon Daniels of Raleigh, Brent Daniels of Winston-Salem, Stephanie McKeown and husband Chris of Holly Springs; five great grandchildren, Madeline Avery McDonald, Sidney Victoria Daniels, Aaron James Daniels, Connor Jameson McKeown, and Callie Anne McKeown.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, July 5th, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Master Trooper Brent Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park on Yadkinville Rd. in Winston-Salem. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

The Daniels family is very grateful to the Trinity Grove Assisted Living Staff, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Friends, and all those who have provided loving care for Ms. Daniels over the years.
