Mrs. Dorothy Lillian Sawyer Daidone, 82, of Winston-Salem passed away suddenly Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 14, 1928 in Middlesex, New Jersey to Leo and Lillian Anderson Sawyer. Mrs. Daidone was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church. She lived in New Jersey before moving to North Carolina four years ago. She enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a loving mother, adored by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Enrico Daidone. Surviving are one daughter, Cindi McNulty (Jay) of Lewisville; one son, Dr. Paul Daidone of Bentonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, James McNulty (Sarah), Colleen Depuew (Michael), Jack Daidone, Mia Daidone, and Reagan Daidone; one sister, Trudy Daidone (Eugene); one brother, Leo Sawyer (Norma); and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
