Miss Dorothy Jane Craver, 98, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away Tuesday November 29, 2022, at Kate B. Reynold’s Hospice Home. She was born November 8, 1924, in Forsyth County, the daughter of Walter Sr. and Cassie Craver. Dorothy graduated from Clemmons High School class of 1942. She was a lifelong active member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church, where she taught Sunday School for 40 years and was a member of the women’s fellowship. She retired from her work as an administrative assistant in the legal field after 50 years, employed with several employers working in the Pepper Building in downtown Winston-Salem. Dorothy was independent and a devoted member of her family. She enjoyed going to the symphony and being involved in community events. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Walter Craver, Jr., sister Virginia Voss, and nephew, Marvine Voss. She was survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Craver, niece Cozetta Slamp (Rick), nephews Dean Craver (Lisa), Wally Craver (Kim), Michael Voss (Annie), great nephews and nieces Amanda Hauser (Justin), Jacob Craver, Abby Craver, Sydney Craver, Adam Voss, and Stacey Voss, and several great great nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2022, at New Philadelphia Moravian Church Graveyard with Bishop Sam Gray officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church banquet hall.
