Dorothy Mae Shelton Horton Cox

Dorothy ""Dot"" Shelton Horton Cox, 79, passed away December 27, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1930 in Stokes County to the late Luther and Della Wood Shelton. Mrs. Cox was an active member of Center Grove Baptist Church in Clemmons and was retired from Hanesbrands with 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard W. Cox of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Cox and wife Kimberly of Clemmons and Greg Horton and wife Carolyn of Tobaccoville; four grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Cox of Clemmons, and Jody and Stephen Horton of Winston-Salem; a sister, Bernice Brown of Greensboro and a special niece, Jo Ann Wooten of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm tonight at the funeral home.
