Dorothy Galloway Chamblee

Mrs. Dorothy ""Peggy"" Galloway Chamblee, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away November 9 at her home. Peggy was born February 20, 1921 to the late R.M. Galloway and Blake Maske Galloway in Hamlet, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis A. Chamblee and her infant daughter, Peggy Blake Chamblee, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her children, Betty MacGregor, Lewis Chamblee, and Jo Bjorling (Kirk); four grandchildren, Joel Chamblee (Heather), Kendra Loizou (Loizos), Mary Blake Williams (Casey), and Kirk Bjorling, Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. Peggy loved people, teaching, reading, dancing and was a life-long learner. More than anything, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and His Word. She was a devoted member of three special congregations over the years: Easton Baptist Church, Surf City Baptist Church and Lewisville Baptist Church. A service to celebrate her life will take place on Tuesday, November 18 at 2:00 pm at Lewisville Baptist Church with Dr. George Smith and Rev. Don Horn officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service, from 12:30 - 2:00 pm at the church. A family graveside service was held on November 11 at Hollywood Cemetery in Middlesex, NC.
