Dorothy Arnold Burnette

Mrs. Dorothy Arnold Burnette, 89, of King, NC, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Pioneer Community Hospital in King. Mrs. Burnette was born on May 19, 1926, in Halifax County, VA to the late Roy Clinton Arnold and Iola Bee Russell Arnold. She was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God in King. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Levola Robertson and one sister, Vera Gainey. Mrs. Burnette is survived by her husband, Melvin William Burnette; four children, Wayne Burnette (Kay), Brenda Redmond (David), Deloris Robertson (Vic), and LaVanda Livengood (David); 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy C. Arnold (Betty) and Douglas Arnold (Doris); and two sisters, Lillian McMillan and Barbara Irby. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Robbie Sizemore and Rev. V.G. Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Harvest Temple Church of God, 312 Newsome Rd., King, NC 27021. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Rose Tara Plantation for the care they provided to Dorothy.
