Mrs. Dorothy Sechrist Hunt Best, 93, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Trinity Elms in Clemmons. She was born July 5, 1921 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Charlie James and Lelia Octavia Snow Sechrist. Mrs. Best was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir. She retired from Western Electric with twenty years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, C. W. Hunt, her second husband, Raymond Best, three brothers, James Sechrist, Odell Sechrist and Charlie Sechrist, three sisters, Juanita Locke, Sylvia Messick and Betty Ann Bledsoe, and her son-in-law, Joe Webster. Survivors include two daughters, Annette Coe and Denise Webster of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Ashley Smith and husband, Mark of Clemmons, Sgt. Grant Webster of Cherry Point, and Gina Stanford and husband, Brian of Winston-Salem; two great grandchildren, Ashton Smith and Christian Smith of Clemmons; one brother, Ralph Sechrist of Winston-Salem; one sister, Patricia Lyall and husband Marsh of North Wilkesboro; and a special sister-in-law, Emily Sechrist of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 5000 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
