Dorothy Rushing Allen

KERNERSVILLE - Dorothy ""Dot"" Lee Rushing Allen, 75, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Kernersville Medical Center. Dot was born on August 28, 1939 in Forsyth County to Cecil Lee and Agnes Irene Holt Rushing. She was a 1957 graduate of Walkertown High School and a former employee of Hanes Hosiery.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Elton P. Allen; a daughter, Kimberly Renee Allen; and a sister, Mary Ruth ""Toot"" Larrimore.
Surviving are her sons, Darryl Allen (Steffny) and Michael Allen (Stephanie); a brother-in-law, David Larrimore; a sister-in-law, Linda Allen Clanton; nieces, Pam McCann (Ronnie), Michelle Forss (Darren); a nephew, Trey Clanton (Renee); great nephew, Jason Sain; and great nieces, Katie and Kylie Forss, Rachel and Ava Clanton.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Judy Davis, Heather Slate and Amy Brown for their loving care of Dorothy.
