Doris Hartman Flowers was born to James Hoyle and Ardee Conrad Hartman on January 7, 1934. Doris passed into the more immediate presence of Jesus on January 23, 2021, at the age of 87. Doris was a tireless worker in the Moravian Church. At Immanuel Moravian Church she served on the Board of Trustees, directed Bible School, was active in the Women’s Fellowship and Sunday School. She later moved her membership to Advent Moravian Church and participated in worship services and Sunday School until her health began to fail. Doris’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She passionately believed that “children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward”. Psalm 127:3. Doris was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby Lee Flowers, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children; Sharon Edwards (Jerry), Robbie Stiefel (Eric), Penny Minor (Ronnie), Bobby Lee Flowers Jr. (Billie) and Patti Chambers (Neil). Her grandchildren Jay Edwards, Tiffany Tarulli, Amanda Leupold-Walser, Britney Flowers and Bobby Flowers, Holley Bell and Luke Chambers. She also had seven great grand-children and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be conducted at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tim Sapp officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Friends of Moravian Prison Ministry. 459 S Church Street Winston-Salem NC 27101.
