KERNERSVILLE-Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Doris Cook Webster, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, April 25, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 22, 1923 in Forsyth Co. to the late Henry J. and Elizabeth Lizzie Adams Cook.
Doris was a Christian of the Baptist faith. She retired from Adams Millis after many years of service.
She loved to garden, and got pleasure from sharing her fruits and vegetables with her family and friends. Another joy was her caring for her potted plants, and she was always ready to pot up one for you to take home. Doris was a wonderful cook, and loved to set a plate for anyone who came by to visit. Many conversations went on around her table as to which one of her recipes was a particular persons favorite. But her greatest love and devotion was providing and caring for her family throughout her entire life.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her true and only love, her husband, Robert Lee Webster, Jr.; four brothers, John, Ollie Tom, Leo and Richard Cook; four sisters, Lessie Pulliam, Mary Tuttle, Martha McGee and Lillian Riggs.
Surviving are her four children, Barry Webster, Dolores (Bill) Helms, Debbie (Paul) Randolph all of Kernersville, and Susan (Billy) Brookshire of Archdale; five grandchildren, Melissa Taylor, Ashley and Robert Brookshire, Erik and Travis Randolph; five great-grandchildren, Avery, Jordan and Carolina Taylor, Kobe Randolph, and Slayter Brookshire; and one sister, Annie Hedgecock Fulton of Satellite Beach, FL.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Phil Hulen officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends after the interment at the home of Debbie and Paul Randolph 7309 Pine Shadow Ct., Kernersville.
