Doris VanHorn Pendleton

Doris Ann ""Dot"" VanHorn Pendleton, 82, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, surrounded by her family at Forsyth Medical Center. Dot was born on August 8, 1932 in Cleveland County, NC to Robert Franklin and Irette Harvey VanHorn. Dot was a retired LPN from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death on March 27, 1992 by her beloved husband Willard Eugene ""Red"" Pendleton. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, C.G. ""Bud"" VanHorn and Robert VanHorn. Dot's survivors include her sister, Irene VanHorn Ledford of Gastonia, NC. Dot is also survived by her sons Scott Pendleton of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ricky and wife Janice Pendleton, Gregory Pendleton of Winston-Salem, NC; her daughters Patricia Pendleton and Pamela Pendleton Jordan of Winston-Salem, NC. She was a grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 10. The service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, March 28, 2015 at South Fork Baptist Church by Pastor Paul Smeltzer. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
