Doris Franklin Miller

KERNERSVILLE- Mrs. Doris Franklin Miller, 77, passed away Monday, November 15, 2011. She was born December 4, 1933 in Cook Co. Illinois to the late Kathleen Ledbetter and Toy William Franklin. Mrs. Miller had a long career in Social Work in Greensboro, and was a Volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for 25 years, and volunteered for Crisis Control in Kernersville up until her passing. Doris was a long life advocate and lover of dogs, she founded the Humane Society in Gaston Co. NC. Surviving are her loving husband Robert J. Miller, a son; Adam Miller of Kernersville, two daughters; Meggan McCarter of Richmond, Va, Leslie Allen and husband David of Marietta, Ga. and a grandson; Miles Avery Allen. A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Forsyth Humane Society at 61 Miller Street Winston Salem, NC 27104.
