Winston-SalemMrs. Doris Ketner Miller, 89, a resident of The Oaks, passed away on February 26, 2012. She was born in Clemmons on July 30, 1922, the daughter of John Franklin Ketner and Catherine Harper Ketner. Mrs. Miller was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and retired from various retail positions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Miller; four brothers, Charlie, Paul, George, and Curtis Ketner; and three sisters, Bertie Spillman, Bessie Tesh, and Gladys Grubbs. Surviving are three children, Jeremiah Miller (Sarah) of Belews Creek, Carolyn Whitehead (Bob) of Cropwell, Alabama, and Cheryl Born (Clayton) of Pinnacle; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Ketner of Plant City, Florida; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Crestview Memorial Park with Dr. Charles Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 AM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank Liberty Hospice Service for their support.
