Mrs. Doris Salmon Lawson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, December 07, 2012 at her home. She was born June 7, 1925 in Roanoke County, VA to Willie B. Salmon and Lilly Mae Laprade Salmon. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Parkview Church of God in Winston-Salem. She worked numerous years in retail. Mrs. Lawson was a dedicated housewife and mother that loved the Lord and her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by eight siblings. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Raymond Lawson Sr.; two sons, Ray Lawson (Shirley) and Rick Lawson (Peggy) both of Walkertown; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Rebecca Williams of VA, Ruth Mitchell of King and Ruby Whitt of FL; brother, Rev. Dan Salmon (Judy) of King; and also, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor: Rev. Bobby Dishmam officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, December 10th at the funeral home.
