Mrs. Doris Cave Johnson, 84 of Winston-Salem, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born January 28, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Walter H. and Helen Brown Cave. She enjoyed her years taking care of her family and home in Westfield, N.J. and her early retirement years in Pinehurst, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Johnson. A most gracious, kind and funny person, Doris enjoyed playing golf, bridge, her art and she was an avid reader. Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Diane Johnson Hydoski and husband Frank of NY, Leslie Sciandra and husband, Dan of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren; Matthew, Xavier, Amelia Sciandra and Joseph Hydoski, and a sister, Janet Jeck and brother in law, Clayton of Florida. The Family will receive friends from 12:30- 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, conducted by Fr. Stephen Rice officiating.. Memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th St., P.O.
