Mrs. Doris Hooper Jamison, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Bedford County, VA on May 4, 1923 to the late Cornelius R. and Virgie Burnett Hooper. Mrs. Jamison was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with her crafts and her flowers. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Jamison was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years Russell Aubrey Jamison, two sons Donald R. Jamison and Ronald A. Jamison; and a brother C. Lewis Hooper. She is survived by two daughters Bonnie Griffin and Vicki Freeman and husband Gordon all of Winston-Salem; a son Kenneth ""K.T."" Thomas Jamison and fiancé© Frankie Hester of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren Michelle Crouch; Amber and Todd Jamison, Ladonna Hilton, and Andy and Cody Freeman; a great grandson Kaden Crouch; a sister Louise H. Nance and husband P.D. of Bedford, VA; and a sister-in-law Bettie C. Hooper of Lynchburg, VA. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Eller officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
