Doris Whiting Hayes

KERNERSVILLE-Doris Alta Whiting Hayes, 96, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 14, 1917 in NY to the late Ernest and Carolyn Hughes Whiting.

Doris loved going to antique shops and enjoyed indulging in her chocolate every day.


Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Edward Hayes; three daughters, Carol Piatt and husband, Dean, Shirley Martin, Sandra Killian and husband, Raymond; two sons, Richard Bray and wife, Joyce, Terry Bray and wife, Barbara; 12 grandchildren;22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Betty Whiting.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Jeff Patterson and Rev. Wilson Harmon officiating.
